Meikarta "The New Jakarta"

Meikarta has also gained spotlight from major European and American media such as Reuters, Bloomberg, Financial Times, Nasdaq, Dow Jones, Der Spiegel, and Business Insider.

Well-known media also believe that the skyscrapers in Meikarta will be the control and administrative center of companies from various parts of the world, or become the most strategic central business district (CBD) in Indonesia.


In the calculation of Lippo Group, the existence of Meikarta will accelerate the presence of about 4,000 companies in Cikarang. In addition to Meikarta, the companies are also eyeing Lippo City Cikarang.

Meikarta itself is designed to accelerate the growth of the national economy which now controls half the gross domestic product (GDP) of Asean. Since 2010, according to the World Bank, Indonesia's economy has even entered the top 10 in the world.

"The bright future of Meikarta is also due to its location at the heart of the national economy," said Lippo Group CEO James Riady, referring to the Jakarta-Botabek-Bandung corridor, where 60 national economies are produced.

Based on existing statistical data, about 70 percent of the economic corridor is produced in Bekasi.

Meikarta itself is surrounded by several new independent cities such as Cikarang, Jababeka, plus industrial areas that result various electronic goods, automotive parts, pharmaceuticals, chemicals and others.

Equally important is the fact that Meikarta is on the fastest route to the deep sea ports of Patimban and Kertajati International Airport which in a few years will begin to operate. From Meikarta also Light Rail Transport (LRT) Cawang-Bekasi Timur-Cikarang, Jakarta-Cikampek toll flyway, and Jakarta-Bandung fast train station can be reached in minutes.




And also now there are issues related to licensing meikarta. PT Lippo Karawaci Tbk ensures the company does not have any problems regarding licensing in the construction of Meikarta new city, since all licensing procedures have been followed according to the prevailing rules. In addition Meikarta is part of the development of Lippo Cikarang which has started its development since mid 1980.

Public Relations Director of Lippo Karawaci, Danang Kemayan Jati, said that Lippo development always obey every regulation, in this case Meikarta is part of Lippo Cikarang development.

"All permits from the district government are complete, but the company will learn if there are other licenses that are still needed at the provincial level," Lippo said, "and always obey and follow the rules in participating in developing the region.

Danang added that in due time it will describe the licensing process and believe what Lippo's management is doing in accordance with the procedure because the process in the district government goes without any problems.

"All permits to Bekasi local government have been processed in accordance with the existing regulations from IMB to amdal," said Danang.

It is planned that the Meikarta property project will be allocated for the construction of housing, parks, towers and other facilities such as universities with a land area of up to 500 hectares.


Our opinion:
Meikarta is designed to be supported by high and international public facilities, like the Central Business District (CBD). It includes a modern and classy mall, international hospitals, educational facilities, Central Park or a 100 hectare green park that is public, an artificial lake with beautiful scenery that also functions as a flood embankment and also supporting facilities other necessities of life. Anyone would be tempted to have a unit in Meikarta with complete facilities. Meikarta will be transformed into an elite independent city.

Meikarta is expected to be a "New jakarta" Surrounded by basic infrastructure that is qualified in the corridor of Bekasi - Cikarang - karawang. Planing Meikarta as new city is not just for economic area, but also as resdential area. The birth of Meikarta new city is expected to reduce the traffic load of jakarta and surrounding transportation. In adittion to reducting the burden of Jakarta,    Meikarta also has potential to reduce the burden of bandung because this area will be passed by Jakarta-Bandung fast train, LRT and MRT flyover, deepsea port Patimban, Kertajati International Air Port, and Jakarta-Cikampek Elevated Toll. So we think that the presence of Meikarta can be solution to reduce the burden of Jakarta as a capital city.
